Lee County ADA Open House on Feb. 23

If you plan to attend... please contact Joan below so a Sign Language Interpreter will be provided.

Thanks and hope to see you all there.   Dianna

Hello to service-providers and stakeholders of the ADA-qualified community.

Lee County is hosting an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Lakes Regional Library, 15290 Bass Road, Fort Myers, 33919 to encourage feedback about the accessibility of Lee County transportation, transit, facilities, services and programs.  Input will help us to identify the locations and services used most by people with disabilities and to prioritize projects in the County’s newly updated ADA Transition Plan.  The open-house format will allow one-on-one communication with ADA coordinators and staff from a variety of departments.  Lakes Regional Library is served by both LeeTran and Passport.

Those who prefer to submit comments from their homes may contact the Lee ADA Coordinator Joan LaGuardia, (239) 533-2314, Florida Relay 711, or jlaguardia@leegov.com.

We are asking for your help in three ways:

Please share this email and its information about this open house with your clients and on social media;
Let clients and other stakeholders know that the following are the most important questions for which we are seeking comments:

What County government locations, services and programs do you most frequently use?
Are there locations that deliver County services or programs that you have difficulty accessing or navigating once you arrive?
Are there County services or programs that you have difficulty accessing?
Are you able to communicate with County staff about your solid waste, water, permitting or other services?

Please note, discussion at this open house will not cover services and locations in the cities.  Comments about Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Estero, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel should be directed to those municipalities.

Urge those who plan to attend and require accommodations to contact the Lee ADA Coordinator Joan LaGuardia, (239) 533-2314 or Florida Relay 711, jlaguardia@leegov.com, as soon as possible or by Feb. 20 to ensure that accommodations can be made.

More details:

For assistance with LeeTran or Passport service, call (239) 533-8726 or Florida Relay 711.

Thank you for your valuable assistance in this community outreach.
