The Deaf Service Center is always looking for potential committee members and
board members. Do you have experience with accounting, fundraising, the Deaf community, and/or event planning? Contact the DSC at
info@dsc.us if you are interested in applying
to join a committee.
DSC Committees:
Nominating Committee - The Nominating Committee shall be
responsible for the identification, recruitment, nomination and orientation, of
the board members. The committee shall develop a list of potential board members
to present a slate of officers for election at the general meeting and to fill
expiring terms of board members.
Finance Committee - The Finance Committee shall budget and
monitor monthly expenses necessary to operate the DSC; itemize areas of income
and expenditures. They shall prepare and submit an annual budget to the Board of
Directors (BOD) with
the Executive Director of the DSC. They will arrange for short-term financial
projects and aggressively promote and plan for long range financial assistance.
By-laws Committee - The By-laws Committee shall examine the
internal structure and design of the organization and develop internal policies
and procedures of operation. They will recommend additions or changes to the
by-laws, which shall promote the most effective management system.
Evaluation Committee - The Evaluation Committee shall establish
criteria and conduct the evaluation process of the Executive Director. The
Evaluation Committee will make recommendations regarding additions or changes to
criteria, performance evaluations and pay adjustments.
Strategic Planning Committee – The Strategic Planning Committee
shall make recommendations to the BOD to assist in determining the DSC mission,
vision, and values. The committee will formulate short and long-range goals and
objectives to support the DSC mission.
Family Services Committee – The Family Services Committee
shall facilitate discussions about program priorities related to families with
deaf and hard of hearing children; oversee development of new programs and
services related to families and youth; monitor and assess these programs.
